With strengthening of comprehensive national power, there are more and more special events held in China. Those events cover aspects such as athletics, culture, trade etc. In the meantime, accompany with economic development, the frequency of people moving throughout the country is becoming larger and larger. The traffic pressure faced by large-scale city transportation junctions increases day by day. Those junctions include railway station, airport, and metro, etc. Because of the practical application value in architectural design, public security, making out emergency scheme in emergent situation, crowd evacuation is increasingly paid close attention by academic circles.In the first part of this paper, we review predecessors' research results in crowd evacuation. These results are classified in this thesis. An introduction in detail is made for some representative evacuation models such as social force model, cellular automaton model, magnetic force model, etc.The second part of the paper describes the modification of social force model. In modified model, the effect of occlusion is considered. Fist, we introduce some modifications to social force model by predecessor because of shortcomings or application requirements. After that, this paper described some deficiency found by us in social force model. A modified model is reported in this article after analysis of shortcomings cause. Numerical simulations based on the modified social force model are implemented. In those simulations, we got some important phenomenon observed in crowd evacuation, such as arching at the exit,"Fast-Is-Slower Effect", etc. We present some comparisons between the results of modified model and unmodified model. The comparisons state the modified model is able to get similar simulation results. In further, the thesis dissertates modified social force model can eliminate some shortcomings in original model. In this part of paper, the method used to reduce time complexity is also introduced.A study of crowd evacuation based on social force model in a university dormitory, which is an example of complex scene, is undertaken in the final part of the thesis. We give a description for the dormitory, environment modeling, and the hierarchical structure of scene. The thesis introduces the simulation programs by us. The programs include the main simulator, continue simulator in fall, simulation study tools. The status of the crowd in evacuation is promulgated, with the investigation into how the amount of floor, the size of stair makes an influence on the evacuation time, using the simulation programs.
