Wireless sensor network is a mass network architecture which is self-organizing,multi-hop and have no infrastructure supporting. It is composed of tiny sensor nodes. And sensor nodes communicate with each other through radio. Because the energy of a tiny sensor node is limited and disposable, how to reducing energy use and extend the network's lifetime is a key consideration in the design of wireless sensor networks.LEACH protocol randomly selects cluster nodes by way of circulating, divides equally relay traffic,to balance the energy load in whole network. Compared to the clustering protocol or a plane for multi-hop routing protocol, LEACH can extend the network lifetime significantly. However , the randomness of selecting cluster head in LEACH may bring a equilibrium phenomenon that some cluster heads are concentrated in a regional network. In this paper,we propose a improved routing protocol CPFL on studying LEACH. The new protocol uses fuzzy logic to select cluster head. It comprehensive considers density, energy and flow, using fuzzy logic to get a resultant value to change the threshold of cluster head election. So the heads of the distribution can relatively balanced. The improved protocol uses the form of multi-hop between all clusters to reduce energy consumption caused by distance transport. We simulate the two protocols in the MATLAB platform. The experimental results show that the improved protocol outperforms LEACH on saving energy and lifetime.
