With the rapid development of computer technology, communications technology and semiconductor technology, the internet of things become an important part of the new generation of information technology. As an important part of the internet of things, wireless sensor networks would be used more and more widely. Correlation study also becomes an important object of the information technology development. The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) consists of a large number of sensor nodes that are limited in energy, processing power and storage. The energy of nodes is the most important consideration among them because the lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks is limited by the energy of the nodes.The routing protocols of wireless sensor network are almost divided into flat routing protocol and hierarchical routing protocol in the recent. This paper analyzed a number of typical characteristics of protocols and Considering the advantages and disadvantages of them. A routing protocol based on LEACH and using fuzzy logic is presented which called LEACH-FL (LEACH protocol using Fuzzy Logic).LEACH-FL aimed to solve the problems of LEACH. In the LEACH protocol, the network select the nodes to become cluster heads only depends on the probabilistic model, which is likely that the selected cluster heads of the network gathered in a region of the network or located in the fringe areas of the network. These inefficient cluster heads made the energy of the whole network can not be used to maximize efficiency. LEACH-FL introduced the concept of fuzzy logic and selected the best nodes to communicate with the base station to avoid rapid death of individual nodes. This approach achieved a balanced node energy and prolonged the life cycle of the whole network. The nodes of the network get a mathematical function by considering three factors (battery level, distance and node entity) using fuzzy computing, and then get an exact value to determine whether a node becoming a cluster head by using a defuzzification method. Considering the parameters of the node in the process of calculation to determine whether a node becoming a cluster head and each node followed the principles that:battery level first, followed by distance and node density.LEACH-FL which is a kind of hierarchical routing protocol used industrial control technology in the wireless sensor network routing protocols. When the traditional hierarchical routing protocol deciding the nodes to become cluster head, they considered too little factors and the algorithm used in the selection can't reflect the importance of each factor of the nodes very well. LEACH-FL improved the rationality of selection of the node greatly by using the fuzzy algorithm and achieved significant energy savings, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of wireless sensor networks.
