Chaos, is internal random phenomenon generated by the deterministic equation,whose discovery has brought a profound impact on mathematical physical methods whichdescribed the objective world and its concepts. Cryptology includes science and technol-ogy of maintaining information security, and science and technology of revealing thecamou?age of cipher text, that is cryptography and cryptanalysis. Chaos and cryptologycombine to form chaotic cryptology. The technology of image encryption is to changethe visibility of the image through encryption to make original image not identifiable.A lot of algorithms about the image encryption are proposed in order to conform to thecharacteristic of the image-data and enhance the safety and the e?ciency of the imageencryption. Among the algorithms, the image encryption algorithms based on chaos arewith good encryption performances.Topological ring map is a special high-dimensional chaotic map. The main contentsof this thesis includes the analysis of three-dimensional topological ring t map, gettinga chaotic sequence, and forming a chaotic encryption method, then by applying thismethod approach to color image encryption, we can get a new color image encryptionmethod. A lot of experiments for this method were done with matlab. This method isgood for encryption.Previous encryption often uses one-dimensional chaotic map, but in this thesis high-dimensional chaotic map was chosen which makes it more unpredictable. Previous en-cryption prefers gray image, but in this thesis we prefer color image, that is rare before.
