Nowadays, with energy cost rising dramatically and environmental problems getting worse in the whole world, energy plays a more and more important role in the survival and development of enterprises. Enterprises could make full use of the information and network techniques in energy conservation management by utilizing advanced mathematical modeling techniques, automatic energy monitoring techniques, and network techniques. Moreover, these techniques could assist to predict and optimize energy consumption for floor shop at early stage, which contributes to energy consumption reduction, energy efficiency improvement, cost decrease, and the sustainable development of the enterprise under the condition of maintaining the normal production of the enterprise. In this paper, the model of energy consumption and the energy scheduling and management system (ESMS) have been developed.Firstly, the foundational theories for building the model of energy consumption calculation are introduced. The method that standard coal serves as the essential measure for energy statistics is presented after analyzing the fundamental problems existing at present. According to the distribution of energy consumption in shop floor, a model of energy consumption calculation in shop floor is also presented and the energy consumption of workshop is divided into processing, adjusting, transporting, waiting and public energy consumptions. Also, the concept and calculation method of each part are presented. Then a general energy predictive control model is presented, which can improve the respond speed of energy conservation via introducing energy predictive model based on scheduling solution into traditional energy management system.Further, this thesis describes the procedure for modeling shop-floor scheduling problem considering energy consumption, using several cases in different shop-floor structures (e.g. flow shop, hybrid floor shop and typical JSP problem) as examples. This scheduling model employs GA algorithm as one method for searching optimal solution. Simulation results verified its validity as well as showing that through adjusting weights of energy consumption and makespan, manufacturing enterprise could efficiently reduce energy consumption under premise of maintaining normal production. What's more, the key technology for Web based shop-floor energy scheduling and management system (ESMS) is further developed in this paper. Owning to meet the basic requirements for system design and development, a framework of Web based ESMS utilizing MATLAB and JSP is proposed. The method of constructing Web server using Java and Tomcat is also introduced. Database connection is achieved after analysis of ODBC and JDBC with differences on communication between MATLAB and SQL server. In this section, the way applying JavaBuilder for connecting MATLAB with Java is presented in order to achieve algorithm development for complex engineering application. Finally, this thesis illustrates the procedure of database design and structure. It designs three databases for corresponding scheduling examples, namely flow shop, hybrid floor shop and typical JSP problem. The development of ESMS is achieved as its four submodules, i.e. query and modify module, shop-floor energy scheduling management, energy consumption calculation module and user management module, are set up.
