After several years of investment on wireless communication network in china, the network scale has already become the world's largest and hold the largest numbers of users on global. However,the quality of network is far beyond the requirement. Therefore, discussing the principal of network optimization, taking rapid and effective network optimization methods to improve network performance and service quality is important issues that is much concerned by mobile network operators. Combined with engineering practice, this dissertation is focusing on the CDMA2000 1x EVDO wireless network optimization, the main work is as follows:1 Introducing the CDMA2000 1x EVDO technology from four aspects: technical analysis, design thought, technical advantages and network structure.2 Giving a brief introduction of CDMA2000 1x EVDO protocol stack model and the forward channel, including channel distribution structure, slot structure and physical structure. Besides, describing the key technologies of CDMA2000 1x EVDO, including time-division multiplexing, multi-user scheduling, virtual soft handoff, HARQ mechanism.3 Describing the network planning and optimization of CDMA2000 1x EVDO and its thought and classification. Network optimization is a process of network data acquisition and data analysis to identify the causes that have impact on the quality of network running and adjust the parameters by some of the technical methods to achieve the optimal running state, maximizing the effects of existing network resources. Therefore, through the analysis of network structure, combined with the characteristics of multi-protocol layers connection, we put forward an optimization thought of "DO network layered vertically and segmented horizontally ".4 Combined with Engineering practice, introducing the content and methods of data acquisition. Network data acquisition is basically divided into two types: Network Test data and system data."Network Test data" refers to the various test results by network test methods, such as: DT test data, CQT test data, OMC traffic statistic data and user complaint investigation records,"System data" refers to some of the parameters of the system itself, including the basic parameters of the base station, antenna system parameters and various technical parameters. The main method is drive- test analysis.5 During the time in the team of CDMA Network Optimization project, in collaboration with RF optimization and performance analysis group,I set a reasonable goal, with comprehensive application of various methods,so as to improve network performance and solve network problems. The main achievements are including: PN delays causing call drop, dealing with complaints of region call drop , EVDO neighboring cell mismatch optimization and etc.In this thesis, the research work have done to improve and optimize the indicators of telecommunication network, solve various network problems, consolidate network infrastructure, enhance the overall network performance, make certain contribution to the CDMA20001xEVDO developing into a network with high-quality.
