The museum which opens to public is a product of modern civilization of the West. Following the social change of Chain in modern times, the museum spreading to China from west gradually. This process may divide into three stages. At the first, museum as a kind of new things to be know and accept by the Chinese from the idea gradually. Then the Chinese begin to appeal and tries to found the museum; And then the number of museum increase, the enterprise of museum begin to take root in China. We can see that the museum enterprise is grows strong gradually in the process of social change of modern China. There are close relationship between the museum and the social change. During the century, from the Opium War to the national founding, the social changes of China present three gradual characteristic obviously, such as implement changes, System changes and cultural changes.Such way of change has great affect to the development of Chinese Museum. It not only affects how the people regard the museum, moreover it immediate influence to type structure, function and opening degree of the museum. This article has discussed the relations between social change and museum from three aspects such as implement changes, System changes and cultural changes. Drawed a conclusion that the development of museum affected by social change deeply. But development of the museum has its own rule.As an independent domain and organic constituent of the society, it not only influenced by the social change passively, but also participates in and promoted the social change positively.
