Real-time joint transform correlator has two-dimensional parallel optical processor and a large information capacity features; It also has the advantages of digital computer that have high precision operation and good flexibility and control convenient and easy to judge. Optical correlation processing is to use optical target detection and recognition the target under test and reference templates similarity, which in a complex background and noise obviously gain the information that we need. By optical correlation method, we can find out the image target to achieve detection and recognition purposes from the chaos of images.Real-time joint transform correlator discerns low-contrast target images in the article, there is a lot of background noise and other factors in recognition process, it is difficult for ordinary method to achieve the desired results. The method based on wavelet transform and combination of gray stretching and canny operator is proposed in this paper. Not only image enhancement, but also the method improves the contrast of joint transform power spectrum Young's interference fringes, and it makes the correlation peak energy enough, and finally the experiments test feasibility of the algorithm.
