With the rapid development of social economy, the increasing motor vehicle quantities, road traffic accidents and the trend has been increasing. And vehicle speeding is a lead to one of the major causes of traffic accidents. Accurate testing vehicles is a violation over speeding an important means. At present, the highway vehicle speeding is a serious phenomenon. The uncertainty of highway motor make the traffic regulation more difficult. To solve this problem, this paper design a single-chip primarily controller.Through the speed measure system based on GPS velocimetry and GPRS wireless communications technology, we successfully collect the real-time instantaneous speed of passing by vehicles on expressway.Through the study of speed detection system,we proposes a novel design around the single-chip Amega128 core. According to the principle of system we finished the main diagram creating and relate component selecting, i.e. design the periphery circuit of power supply,single-chip Amega128 GPS accept modulator ST-92 and GPRS wireless transmitor MC39i.To realise system control function, we separate software into two parts. One for GPS initialization, positioning, speed information receiving, extraction and preservation, another for GPRS initialization, GPRS network linking and MC39i short messages transmission. Finally, We test the total hardware and software at last, prove that this system can complete vehicle instantaneous velocity collection and judgment, send short messages through GPRS alarm when the speed exceeds highway allowed scope. Moreover,we set up a platform on LABVIEW virtual instrument. It can display acccident information such as position, speed and store them into form convenienced later use.
