With the constant development of space laser communications, the benefits of its applicability become more and more notable. This article introduced a key technology of space telecommunication, high-speed and high-accuracy detection of the light spot. Real time detection device is designed and manufactured.Both abroad and domestic state of development of space laser communications is generally introduced firstly, followed by an analysis on ATP subsystem of space laser communications, furthermore, servo-system of accurate tracing is illustrated. Based on the previous demonstration, an analysis of the miscellaneous technique indexes of the accurate light spot detecting unit and light spot image processing unit is performed. A real time image processing unit is designed and realized using FPGA.At last, experiment of the accurate tracing servo-system is carried out; a 3000Hz real time renewal of miss distance is achieved by the light spot image processing unit. Accurate tracing servo-system fulfilled the accuracy requirement, which established a precondition for more compact and portable space laser communication systems.
