With the continuous development of internet technology and the popularity of wifi function at mobile terminal, the proportion of people who use mobile terminal for wireless internet surfing is increasing. Wireless Local Area Network (abbr. WLAN) is the offspring of computer network and wireless communication technology. It adopts wireless transmission method to provide wire LAN function, and is the supplementary and extension of wire LAN. The easy and speedy net access of WLAN is welcomed by the public. To grab the market, telecom operators are vying to cover WLAN network in city areas with massive population, and colleges. WLAN network is connected with WAN, to provide paid net access service.This paper outlines the development of WLAN, and analyzes the technical standards, network brigade solution, and the coverage method of different application scenes of WLAN network. Via the on-the-spot investigation on Qingdao Hengxing Academy, and with the integration of topological structure of Qingdao Telecom City Area Network, WLAN network brigade of Qingdao Hengxing Academy is designed. Based on the technical standards of WLAN system design, innovative network brigade method of BRAS with AC at the sides is adopted. AP coverage is done over Hengxing dormitory with the application of H3C WLAN products. The amount of AP and telecom channel on each floor is planned. Issues of network coverage blind area and same frequency disturbance between different AP are solved. After passing the network certification of China Telecom, the user is able to access internet resources, with convenience and high-speed. During the implementation process, the area with relatively slow network speed is optimized, thus the ejection power of AP is adjusted, the instability of AP connection of mobile terminal is solved, every user can enjoy a 2Mb/s bandwidth speed, and the stability, reliability and security of Qingdao Hengxing Academy WLAN network is effectively improved.
