With the development of Mobile Internet, Wireless City and rural informatization construction, WLAN technology has become the key element for the network construction deployment of telecom operators. And a nationwide large-scale construction of WLAN network has been in full wing. However, as we can see in the current situation of the network construction, WLAN technology exists quite a lot of problems when it is deployed in the outdoor scene. Therefore, it is necessary to have a monographic study for the outdoor application of WLAN technology.Based on the research methods of theoretical analysis, mathematical model calculation and network simulation verification, this paper discussed some key issues of outdoor WLAN network planning that construction need to focus on.First of all, through the principle research of IEEE802.11protocol, the main factors in the PHY layer and MAC layer which limit the maximum coverage distance of WLAN has been researched. The WLAN saturation throughput analysis model has been improved for the use of outdoor scene. And it is used to qualitative analyze the influence of covering distance to the802.11g network performance under the particular conditions. The analysis conclusion of this part provides important reference for the outdoor WLAN network covering planning.Secondly, through mathematical modeling and network simulation, the influence of low data rate subscriber to WLAN network performance has been analyzed. The feasibility of relieve negative affects of the low data rate subscriber by adjusting the site’s minimum competition window has been discussed. And some guiding suggestions for outdoor network optimization of low speed subscriber issues have been put forward. The analysis conclusion of this part provides theoretical guide for the outdoor WLAN network capacity optimization.Finally, through the research of the forming principle and analysis method for Spurious Emission Interference, Blocking Interference and Intermodulation Interference, the electromagnetic interference problem in the scene where outdoor WLAN and other communication systems constructed in a common site has been discussed. The intersystem isolation requirement and antenna isolation distance requirement for avoiding the interference of WLAN to the other communication system has been calculated. Some auxiliary measure for interference avoiding has been put forward. The analysis conclusion of this part provides some important guidance advices for the outdoor WLAN network construction.
