The Design And Implementation Of Textbook Management System Based On The Network Elective System

Qingdao Hotel Management Vocational and Technical College currently has 6 colleges, 30 vocational education professional, serving more than 500 faculty members, and has more than 1 million students in school. Because of the implementation of the class elective system, the original textbook management system that based on class academic year is out of line with the existing educational management system, which brings great inconvenience to the textbook management. Based on this reason, the development of a new textbook management information system that can adapt new environment and new teaching mode is urgent. This is not only can adapt the need of elective system reform, but also can reduce the burden of the staff that work for textbook management and make it improve efficiency; at the same time, this also can improve the effectiveness of information exchange, and can help the students to update the knowledge structure.This system uses the method of object-oriented to research and design the whole textbook management, and elects the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database management system. Its Scripting runtime environment of server-side is ASP, which also use ADO to technical visits the database that is connected by the OLE DB directly. In this way, data access is simple, and access efficiency is high, so the management information system can always be efficient, keep stable operation and response to the larger access flow.This system will make full use of existing campus network resources, and use the combination of C/S mode and B/S mode. Based on the business processes and framework building of the new textbook management, this system designs the textbook manager subsystem for Office of Academic Affairs and other departments in college, which also designs the teacher subsystem and student subsystem. All these subsystems can realize a lot of functions, such as, the system parameters setting of textbook division management side, textbook teaching plan review, stock management, stock outing management, and inventory management, the accounts of textbook settlement, the compilation of textbook teaching plan for department client, the textbook orders reporting, the printing of textbook release orders, the inquiry of textbook accounts for its own department, the online textbook ordering of teaching client, the inquiry of stocks, the self-select and self-purchase of student client, and the inquiry of personal textbook accounts. All the works of textbook management can be done on the network through this system, and all the data can be shared anytime. I believe that this system will play an active role in promoting the informational construction of textbook management in college.
