With the rapid development of automotive industry in our country, the private cars quickly go into hundreds of millions of Chinese families in recent years. The urban traffic faces the intense pressure owing to the popularization of private car. The high fuel prices not only bring the heavy economic burden for car user but also lead to the energy crisis to country.The cars Global Positioning System(GPS) navigation terminal has not the precise path planning of fuel consumption in the current, so a method of path planning of fuel consumption was proposed for GPS of cars, based on the cloud computing. The cloud computing has advantages of efficient computation, mass storage, pay-on-demand, low lost and saving green energy, so the lacks of data calculation and storage can be made up for the embedded system. The main research contents are as follows in this thesis.(1) The cloud computing, GPS and the theory related to GPRS were analyzed and researched, and the technical support of cloud computing navigation terminal was also demonstrated.(2) A method of consuming fuel path planning and a design scheme for the navigation terminal were forward by use of the cloud computing. The fuel consumption data and the GPS positioning information from the navigation terminal were inputted to the cloud computing platform to analyze and process. Then the fuel consumption path information could be shared by many heterogeneous navigation terminal which through the authorization of cloud computing platform. Lastly, the requisition of fuel consumption path was inputted to the cloud computing platform. The navigation results were sent back to the terminal by using the path planning algorithm, and the map with path of less fuel consumption was displayed after the data was processed by the module of navigation terminal.(3) In the thesis,the data protocol used to communication between the navigation terminal and cloud computing platform was designed, the data protocol was designed, the laboratory database was established, the development environment of embedded software and hardware was built and the various functional module was detailed designed. The car GPS navigation terminal system of was designed and achieved in S3C6410 development board. The main functions of navigation terminal included the collection of GPS navigation information, the data collection of automotive fuel system, the network communication and the design of fuel consumption path track.The car GPS navigation terminal based on cloud computing is a comprehensive terminal, because the technology of embedded system, cloud computing, GPS satellite positioning, automobile electronic and network communication are integrated the GPS terminal navigation. It will be reference valuable to navigation product of cars and significance for powering fuel consumption, emissions, economic burden of car owners, national saving energy and emission reduction activity. With the deepening of research and development, the functions of navigation terminal will be improved and its application will become one of effective ways for reducing fuel consumption.
