The female journals whose target audiences are female readers were an important platform that conveys the female discourse at the beginning of its birth. At present, the female journals become a media force which should not be underestimated by being categorized further and becoming outstanding in both the content and positioning. The prosperity of female journals draws attention of the common concern of both the academic and publishing industry, and so a large number of relevant research. Among them, the researches which discuss the human image in the female journals in the perspective of the gender theory and gender-stereotype occupy a large proportion. However, this kind of research often look only to positioning the influences the female image suffer rather than that of the male image.In a micro perspective, this paper chooses Family, Woman friend·cute from 1999 to 2009,and Lan from 2005 to 2009, and analyzes quantitatively those articles to discuss the male image and the factors which affect the male image in the female journals represented by them, in the hope of complementing the existing research of the female journals.The paper mainly consists of five parts. The first part of introduction introduces the value and the theoretical basis of this paper, presents the purposes and significance of the paper and analyzes the related studies in detail. It provides a relatively clear context for the following analysis. From the second to the fourth part, it analyzes respectively the text layout of Family, Woman friend·cute and Lan. Firstly, it shows the global feature of the male image with the statistical data by analyzing the age, region and profession, figure of men and theme of the articles which involve male image. And then, it makes a longitudinal analysis of the male image reflected in Family and Woman friend·cute, and analyzes the male image in columns in Lan. The fifth part discusses the common points and differences of the male image in different kinds of female journals. Furthermore, this part analyzes the longitudinal characteristics of the male image in the same female journals. In the end, it discusses the factors which affect the male image in the female journals. The study reveals that the female journals reflect the male image with the gender stereotype impression in some degree, but the degrees of influence are not same in different kinds of female journals. The influences are most obvious in Family, and then in Woman friend-cute and at last in Lan. The male image reflected in the same female journals is not unchangeable all the time, there are different in every years. It is the comprehensive result of the traditional culture, the readership orientation and the editorial policies of the journals.
