The Control System Design Of Bamboo Weaving Machine Based On Image Processing Technique

The culture of Bamboo Weaving in China has a long history. In daily life, people weave bamboo into mats to prevent heatstroke, and into baskets to hold fish. In recent years, the crafts, made of crossed black and white bamboo with a variety of graphic arts design, are popular in market.However, the traditional bamboo weaving cycle takes a long period of time. An elaborate woven bamboo pattern, usually takes a skilled worker several months to complete. In addition, there are few choices of design for traditional bamboo pattern, and these patterns are generally solidified in the minds of the workers. If require the workers to weave a new style, it seems a kind of difficult.As these aspects mentioned above, this essay is discussed about a new kind of bamboo weaving machine, based on a technique regard as image treatment. It can weave any colored image. The system, which introduces IPC as the control core, takes Vb as the main software to give the colored images a series of pretreatment, outputs the treated images by I/O card, regards electromagnets and motors as the implementing role, to weave the bamboo according to the different output signals. Through the process of the colored image pretreatment, it, firstly relies on the methods called Wiener Filtering and Wavelet Transform to reduce the image's noise. Then, it takes a few wildly used ways of binaryzation to deal with the noise-reduced image. After analyzing, it adopts the method of improved Otsu, to fulfill this process. For the signal output aspect, there is a manufactured drive board to magnify the I/O signal that is output by IPC, and this magnified signal is used to drive the function of the electromagnet.Practice shows this type of image-processing-based machine could weave newly styled elaborate patterns with a high efficiency.
