At taking technology of the computer as network technology of the foundation swift and violent developments, the wide application of Internet educates and arise at the historic moment on the basis of the network of Internet, Network educate become the important means of modern education already, bring enormous influence to education. However, some studies show that learners often feel disoriented and information overloaded in hypermedia space. If the learner feel disoriented, he (or she) will not know whether he (or she) should to continue to study. It may lead to waste his (or her) time on an act of repeating.Network education is now a hot topic in cyber culture. According to the progress of online learning and the main problem in hypermedia space about unscientific goal of study, this article supposed that the existing online learning systems or web courses have a lot to change on offering students appropriate guidance. Thus the research suggested A study of "Web-based System for Self-testing about the Level of Knowledge, WSSLK", which can enhances the adaptively of web hypermedia learning system, and better satisfies the needs of learners.In order to validate the feasibility of this method, the research with five lessons of the Introduction to Network as its basic contents has developed a prototype system. We call it "WSSLK". The work can be summed as follows:First, decompose and reconstruct adaptive web course structure through the structural knowledge representation of concept map. Second, through the online testing platform, we can examine the learners and find out their situation to the elementary theory knowledge understanding. Third, a system-controlled guiding path will be generated according to the learner's situation, and lead the learners go across the knowledge area to reach the learning goals. Finally, let three experts and a small group of students test or use the system, and conduct the formative evaluation of WSSLK prototype.Through the analysis of research problem, the design, development, utilization and evaluation of WSSLK system, we come to the following conclusions:The structural knowledge representation of concept map can effectively decompose and construct adaptive web course structure, and relate quiz items to learning content modules. Learner model based on domain model and concept hierarchy can describe an individual learner's knowledge level, it is the basis of system's adaptive behaviors. This carefully designed evaluation system for evaluating learners'level can improve the communication ability between web learners and education system, can learn the gap between the learners' current situation and the learn target. At the same time, this system can help to motivate and keep the interest for the learners who study from the network. This system has the ability to produce the learn track base on the learners' current knowledge situation, Through this way we can guide the learners' next step learning plan and make a specially teaching strategy for different students. And also, through this evaluation system, we can give direction for each learning phase, reduce the chance of losing way in network studying and over load of information. This net based education system is suitable for the basic learning requirements, easy to operate. We think it should satisfy the simple situation for experiment teaching environment. Although this system need do some modify to improve the function and capability, this work will be done later, but we still hope this system can take some benefits for the learners.
