In recent years, LD pumped all-solid-state (DPSSL) played an important role in laboratory study and market sales. The reason was that the technology of the laser diode become more reliable, and LD has many good properties such as high stability, high efficiency and high life. In the meantime, the reduction of cost gives an impetus to markets to develop vigorously. The main contents of this paper were listed as follows:1. Firstly, the development and the trend of DPSSL were introduced in this paper in detail. The principle and the development of thin-disk laser are also introduced systematically.2. Secondly, this paper includes the main properties of Yb:YAG crystal and its application.3. We give a brief introduction of the dissipation and the methods of transmission which are brought by heat of the crystal. By comparison, we choose a proper cooling method for the crystal.4.Finally, the Yb:YAG thin-disk that pumped by LDA obtained a cw output power of 3.78W at 1030nm. The optical conversion efficiency was 24.90%. By employing LBO crystal,92.5mW 515nm green laser was obtained.
