China successfully launched its first new generation of polar orbiting meteorological satellite FY-3A In May 2008. Meteorological satellite FY-3 mainly to solve the global, all-weather, multi-spectral, three-dimensional Earth's atmosphere and environment of quantitative remote sensing. With the support of "The first phase of R & D projects of meteorological satellite FY-3 application " This article study the areas of the Yangtze River estuary and the Yellow River estuary based on FY-3 satellite, carried out the study of remote sensing inversion model and turbid water & atmospheric correction in the areas of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, developed the system of estuarine sediment monitoring method based on FY-3 MERSI. The main contents include:1. The study of suspended sediment concentration inversion method with the Yangtze River estuary and the Yellow River estuary. Based on field data and radiative transfer simulation data, using statistical regression methods, established inversion model the Yellow River, Yangtze River estuary sediment concentration for FY-3 MERSI.2. Inversion of high sediment concentration for the MERSI simplified atmospheric correction method statistics determine the MERIS spectral radiance of the 1 level product of the high suspended sediment concentration waters surrounding the cleaner waters, and processing the next set it will be known. Remote sensor will signal received at this time due to atmospheric contribution completely. From the high suspended sediment concentration waters in the 1level remote sensing product, minus the atmospheric contribution of corresponding band that the statistics is determined . The results can be approximately considered to represent the spectral information from the water.3. The analysis of temporal and spatial variation of estuary suspended sediment concentration. Using ENVISAT MERIS data in the study area produce thematic maps of suspended sediment concentration.Study the temporal and spatial variation of suspended sediment concentration in the study area.4. The accuracy of FY-3 estuarine sediment monitoring products . Use of "s-s comparison "method, assessed by the MERIS data estuary FY-3 MERSI accuracy of remote sensing monitoring products, and analyzed the factors.5. Software system design and development of estuarine sediment monitoring prototype. Design and development of FY-3 MERSI estuarine sediment data inversion prototype system. Including file operations, pretreatment, suspended sediment inversion, image output, system management, five features of image display. Able to complete the FY-3 MERSI 1 level products simple atmospheric correction, 2 level product browsing and importing, estuarine suspended sediment concentration retrieval, data display and output, and recording system running log, set system parameters and so on.
