As the development of urbanization and people's increasing demand of life, building automation and Intelligent Home system are to be the requirements for future house. The development of computer technology and wireless communication technology will provide technical support for the implementation of the intelligent wireless home system. Intelligent home system combines various electrical equipments together and manage them as a whole by wireless network, in order to provide the security, intelligent and comfortable living environment.As a rising wireless communications technology, ZigBee technique has the advantage of other wireless communication technology, and is very suitable for making the separate sensors and actuators as a wireless network, so it will be widely used in the intelligent home system.This dissertation introduces the current station of home system at home and abroad, analyses the prospect of wireless technology used in home system. Comparing with other wireless technology, it indicates the advantage of ZigBee in the application of wireless home system, and studies the theory of ZigBee, ZigBee stack, network topology and so on, which is the basis to apply ZigBee.The important part of this paper is the design of communication node hardware circuit and software, adopts star network as the net topology which is composed with a coordinator (central node) and several end device.The hardware part consists of central node, temperature node, curtain-control node and so on which is based on the minimum system of MC13224. Central node contains UART-USB circuit, LCD module, keyboard module and the indication module. The temperature node adopts DS18B20 as the temperature sensor. The curtain-control node is drived by stepping motor. The light detection node adopts photosensitive resistance as light sensor.On the software part, it uses the software package BeeKit to configure the ZigBee stack of each node, which is compiled by IAR 5.20 and transplanted into the MC13224, then the function of communication software is realized. It introduces the function and flow diagram of central node, curtain-control and temperature node, and develops the application software of each node according to the function.It develops the computer monitor system, and people can manage the network easily. At last, the system has been tested through the example of temperature node, and the function of communication has been validated.
