Fast development of flat panel display technique makes the world more (?) and among all flat panel display technique TFT-LCD is undoubted the most (?) and has been widely used. The developing stream of TFT-LCD directly promotes driver IC progressed day by day. The continually exploring and improvement on driver IC in return makes TFT-LCD more and more perfect.Driver IC consists of three parts:the timing controller, the source driver and the gate driver. This thesis focuses on the implement of three key analog blocks in source driver:output buffer, PTAT current source and RSDS receiver. First, the output buffer is the most important part in source driver, so class-AB and class-B amplifiers are lucubrated, at the same time in order to drive the heavy loading of LCD those output buffers are designed slew rate enhancement. Cascoded Miller compensation technique is used to get the largest unity-gain frequency. Second, the design of PTAT current source is to avoid the decrease of trans-conductance caused by temperature increase, making the speed of output buffer and RSDS receiver almost independent to temperature. Finally, in order to satisfy higher resolution LCD, we use the specification of reduced swing differential signaling (RSDS) as the transition interface in the data receiver, which will increase the data transition speed and reduce the electric magnetic interference (EMI) effect.Those three analog blocks has been applied in a 6bit 720 channels TFT-LCD source driver implemented in HHNEC0.35um HV process.
