Fingerprint recognition technology has become more sophisticated and widely used. To meet the actual needs of teaching management in the Vocational and Technical College of Dalian Polytechnic University, This paper is to explore how to use fingerprint recognition technology to design and develop the student attendance system to solve the problem of student attendance management in a more scientific and standardized way.This paper describes the ideas and methods of designing, and highlights the system's three-tier architecture and the application of the improved C/S (Client Server) and B/S (Brower Server) mode in the system.In the process of the development of the system, ASP.NET, ADO.NET,. NET Framework, Remoting, XML and many other technologies are used. Fingerprint recognition part uses supporting TCP/IP protocol, enabling cross-segment, cross-network gateway networking fingerprint attendance apparatus, background database system uses Microsoft SQL Server 2005.Through the combination of fingerprint recognition technology,network and database technologies,the fingerprint identification of the student attendance system, achieves the functions of collecting fingerprint, the basic information of teaching input, setting the attendance information, attendance records generated, attendance records checking and printing, messaging and notifications issued and etc.In order to improve efficiency and security of data transmission, we use data compression, data encryption, windows authentication, URL authorization, IP and domain name restrictions, the privileges and authority to operate the menu setting and other technical programs.After the function modules of the system testing, analysis, It shows that the system has a stable, friendly interface, and is characteristic of easy operation, safety and reliability.
