Research And Design Of Identity Authentication System On Campus Based On Fingerprint Recognition

As more secure authentication is required in these days, biometrics is gaining increasing attention. Fingerprint recognition is one of the most popular and successful methods for person identification, and has been used widely in many fields. It will release users from remembering passwords and bringing cards that we apply fingerprint recognition technology into identity authentication. In this paper, we analyzed and designed an identity authentication for campus specially. A Client/Server model in two-tier was used as the architecture of the system. The system contains several modules such as fingerprint information enrollment module, local authentication module and a subsystem for remote user authentication. To ensure the availability of users'information, all legitimate users must be enrolled centrally. The subsystem of 3-tier architecture is design to deduce loads of clients,and the process of fingerprints matching is implemented by servers. The experimental results reveal that our system can achieve good performance as expected.
