The Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technique which can be integrated in the dielectric substrate with low insert-loss and low radiation-loss is a novel guided-wave structure developed in recent years. Since the propagation character in SIW is similar to that in a conventional rectangular waveguide, the millimeter wave and sub millimeter wave SIW components and sub-systems take a lot of merits such as high-Q, high power capability and easy integration etc. Therefore, SIW can be used to achieve some metal devices such as splitters, filters, antennas as the waveguide. Additionally, due to SIW components are totally constructed by metallic-vias in the dielectric substrate, these components can be fabricated using printed-circuits-board (PCB), low temperature cofires ceramic (LTCC) process or even thin-film process and integrated with other planar microwave circuits and chips without any expensive assembling. Compared to the fabrication costs of traditional waveguide microwave and millimeter-wave components, the costs of SIW components which do not need tedious post-fabrication tuning are very low, and they are very suitable for the designing and production of microwave and millimeter-wave integrated circuits.This article designs a TE10-TE01 mode converter basing on the substrate integrated waveguide technology. This article is divided into the following four parts:First, design and development of a new type of waveguide to the antipodal finline SIW converter, this converter in the Ka-band and W-band have good simulation results, and can achieve the electric field direction transition from the rectangular waveguide to SIW;Second, basing on the the waveguide mode converter design theory and practice, we have designed a new type of SIW rectangular waveguide TE10-TE01 circular waveguide mode converter, through the new design line converters we abtain a good result of electric field direction mode converter; third, with analysis basing on the advantages and disadvantages of theY type and T-type power splitter,we design and develop a new type of 4-way power divider for this paper.Between 90GHz~100GHz band, return loss is better than 15 dB, insertion loss is less than 7.42dB, isolation between the output ports is between 13.4dB-15.4dB; Fourth, we integrate antipodal finline converters, mode converters, power splitter together, and between 91 GHz 97.5GHz band, return loss is better than 15 dB, insertion loss is less than 1.5dB.
