With the development of laser technology, laser is widely used in the fields of military, medical, industrial, scientific research and so on. The measurement of laser parameters is becoming more and more important. Among the parameters'measurement, laser energy is the most important one. Measured it accurately is very important for the quantitative analysis of the laser's action on the material. A laser energy meter is designed in this paper for small energy pulsed laser. As the photosensitive element of laser energy meter's detector, LCMO/YBCO thin film sensors convert laser energy into voltage. By INA118 amplifier, laser induced thermoelectric voltage signal is isolated and amplified. AD7714 convert the analog voltage signal into digital signal, after calculated by P89C52, laser energy is finally sent to ZLG7290 to display. In order to control laser energy meter, control software of laser energy meter is designed by LabWindows/CVI software. It can display laser induced thermoelectric voltage signal and laser energy in real-time, and can calculated the laser energy.Through testing, it is proved that the laser energy meter has stable working performance, and high accuracy measurement. It can also communicate with PC normally. The control software of laser energy meter is easy to operate, and its interface is simple and clear, which has achieved the requirements of design.
