The Analysis On The Current Training Situation Of Students' Scientific Spirit And Countermeasure In Xinjiang Colleges And Universities

Scientific spirit is the inner spirit and soul of the science and scientificactivities. With the coming of the knowledge-based economy, the key to the sciencecompetition lies in the competition for talent, whose basic qualities consist ofscientific spirit, scientific knowledge, scientific ideas and scientific methods. As thestandby force of science and technology in the21st century, contemporary collegestudents undertake the important national task of making the country strong and thepeople rich by science and technology. Whether a nation in the21st century can keepits invincible position in the hi-tech competition or not, it depends directly not only ontheir scientific knowledge, scientific creativity, but also on if their scientific spirit canstand the severe challenges of new revolution in science and technology, especiallyfor the students of Xinjiang universities who take more responsibilities. As the gate ofnorthwest China, Xinjiang has the important strategic position, so the stability ofXinjiang bears on the overall situation of the national stability. Since there stillremains the factors that affect the social harmony and stability of Xinjiang, we mustalways keep high vigilance and guard against risk. College students in Xinjiang, as aspecial group in the society, they play a critical role in maintaining social stabilityand unity of Xinjiang. As a result, scientific spirit should be highly advocated to helpcollege students adhere to the correct outlook on the life, on the world and on thevalues, to help students correctly and scientifically understand Marxist view ofreligion, fill their mind with science, and build up a strong defense to resist theideological infiltration through religious activities by the hostile forces, and helpmaintain the social stability of Xinjiang conscientiously. Consequently, it isimperative for the college students of xinjiang to strengthen their scientific spirit.Part I：The first part presents the theory of scientific spirit, including themeaning, contents and characteristics of scientific spirit. On this basis, the author analizes the significance of strengthening scientific spirit education of collegestudents in Xinjiang from four points, that is: scientific spirit education is the needs toreact the development of science and technology, to response the social stability, tocope with the comprehensive trend of disciplines as well as the realization of collegestudents' all-around development. The above lays the theoretical basis for this paper.Part II：The second part is the investigation and analysis of questionnaire. Thecore of scientific spirit is realistic and innovative. On the one hand, scientific spirit isderived from scientific knowledge, scientific thought and scientific methods, and onthe other hand, scientific spirit is expressed at different levels of scientific knowledge,scientific thought and scientific methods, so in this part, taking Xinjiang university asan example, the author summarizes the students' achievements and problems inscientific spirit training by understanding the students' realistic and innovativeconditions of different disciplines and their mastery of scientific knowledge, scientificthought and scientific methods. In addition, the author makes an analysis of thereasons that leads to such problems.Part III：The third part provides the principles that should be insisted on andpractical measures be adopted to the problems that exsist in the current situation ofstrenthening students' scientific spirit education of Xinjiang university.It is hoped that this paper can reflect the real condition of students' scientificspirit education in Xinjiang university from one side and offer certain references inorder to enhance students' scientific spirit.
