Educational anthropology rises in Germany after the Second World War. The emergence and development of educational anthropology made a great contribution for the education reform of Germany and Austria. Educational anthropology was introduced by some scholars in the1980s, and kept continuous development since then. Educational anthropology is an independent subject, it develops into two schools:Germany focuses on philosophical anthropology while the United States focuses on cultural anthropology. This paper mainly analyzes and researches educational anthropology in Germany and Austria.As the representative of the philosophical educational anthropology, Germany and Austria is determined by their special historical backgrounds. German and Austrian educational anthropology focus on the use of principle of philosophical anthropology, study the problem of education and human development from the perspective of explaining and molding sound human, and in order to develop sound humanity, implement a complete and comprehensive educational thought, and revitalize nation-state. Although Germany is a mono-ethnic country, it has the same educational issues as China, the multi-ethnic country, and the common aspiration of revitalizing their own countries. Therefore, we are trying to seek help and inspiration for our Education from the development of German and Austrian educational anthropology.Many scholars have different points of view about the development and establishment of the disciplines of German and Austrian educational anthropology. This paper carefully analyzes the emergence and development of German and Austrian educational anthropology in infancy, formative period and mature period; describes educational anthropolgical theories of Otto Friedrich Bollnow, Herbert Zdarzil and Christoph Wulf who are famous educational anthropologist in Germany and Austria; analyzes German eeducational anthropology on human nature, thee essence of education, the human eucational possibilities and the human educational needs; through the introduction and analysis of eeducational anthropology in Germany and Austria, ecplores the revelation of China's education from paradigm, educational purposees and theories of educational anthropology It is expected to makee somee benefit on eeducation and deeveelopment of educational anthropology in China.
