Reading-aloud is a traditional method to learn a kind of language, especially for the beginners to learn English or for the students whose English level is much lower. This paper aims to offer a good English learning method for the secondary vocational school students. That is Reading-aloud.Based on the poor English level of the secondary vocational school students, Reading-aloud, this traditional language learning method is very fit for these students. This paper explores preliminarily the effect of Reading-aloud on English teaching with the constructivism theory, the input hypothesis and reading theory. It is pointed out that implementing Reading-aloud is feasible and necessary at the secondary vocational school at the same time.This research takes the students in 05 and 06 class of computer course, 2010, at the vocational school of Puyang County as research objectives. This paper employs both qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The qualitative data are got by questionnaires, interviews and classroom observation. The quantitative study is carried out through six tests with 105 students taking part in the study. The students in the experimental class are guided by the writer to practice reading-aloud training for about four months. At last, through the comparison between the experiment class and the contrast class, the writer got the result that reading-aloud has positive effect on the English teaching of the secondary vocational school. Through Reading–aloud training, the students'English learning in different sides, especially their abilities of listening, speaking and reading really developed much and their comprehensive ability enhanced as well.This research discussed that reading aloud is an effective way for the secondary vocational school students in English learning whose English level is really not so good. Thus, Reading-aloud is really a very good English learning method for the students of the Secondary vocational school. It should be a teaching method for the English teachers to guide the students to learn English. Reading-aloud also should be used at the secondary vocational school at large.
