There remain a lot of problems in Chinese teaching, which is regarded one activity of great importance (sometimes just documental or verbal). Chinese accomplishment just depends on accumulation over a long period, while what students can afford is limited time. So it comes to efficiency in teaching. The new curriculum reform has seen a huge number of changed educational concepts, diversified instructional modes and improved efficiency in class owing to teachers'enriched experience and methods through practice. However, the fact that the problem of low efficiency in class has not yet been totally solved cannot be ignored. To make our class more efficient is not only the main task in the development of the new curriculum reform, but also the key to its success. As a result, we teachers should try our best to enhance the efficiency in class, which is the eternal theme in teaching procedures, with less burden but more achievements.In the following text, the reason why we ought to carry out the efficient teaching, characteristics in efficient Chinese class, the research of teaching strategies, and the survey and reflection of remained problems will be mentioned. I will focus on how to enhance the efficiency of Chinese teaching, including effectiveness in preparation, effectiveness in activities, effectiveness in organization, effectiveness in regulation and optimization in teaching procedures. Besides, multimedia applications as well as requirements for teachers will be put forward. In the end, it comes to the idea that the ultimate goal ---high efficiency of Chinese teaching in high schools will be achieved someday.
