The post-graduate education is relied on the development and construction of degree authorization centers. Distribution of degree authorization department reflects the overall status geographical distribution of post-graduate education. Optimal region distribution is one of the approaches to promote a coordinated development of the graduate education in our country. The number of degree authorization centers and regional distribution represent the situation of post-graduate education to some extent. Educational economics and management is a cross-disciplinary of education, economics and management. The main idea is employing the economical and management theory into the process of education. The amount of authorized units in educational economic and management discipline has been rapidly increased in recent years. As far, there are 18 units granting doctorates and 105 units granting master's degrees compared with 2 in 1983. However, there is an imbalance in regional distribution of degree authorization centers. In order to solve this problem, it is critical to analysis the regional distribution in the major of educational economic and management and find out the reason. Consequently, we can propose some measurements to improve the imbalance.In this present paper, we discuss this issue in the following five parts:First of all, the theory and status of regional distribution was investigated and analyzed. The implication of related concepts, history, attributes and theoretical fundaments of educational economic and management discipline were introduced. In addition, we depicted the issues of units granting doctorates and master programs of educational economic and management discipline from the aspects of time and regional distribution as well as research direction, by using statistics. According to the above mentioned results, the reason of regional imbalance distribution is achieved. To further clarify the reason, we attempt to address this problem on the aspects of tradition, economic, politic, self character and so on. What's more, in view of the above issues, the measurements and fundaments to promote a balance distribution were proposed.
