With the rapid development of science, technology and knowledge, teachers' professional development, which is regarded the main trend of the international education development, becomes the main direction of the teachers education reform in China today. The professional development of the middle school politics ( morals ) teachers, plays an important role in implementing the new politics and morals curriculum, enhancing the students' moral education, helping them to establish a correct world outlook, a correct outlook on life and values, and in promoting their all-round development. The study on the professional development of middle school politics ( morals ) teachers has an important theoretical and practical significance.On the basis of the related theories of Marx philosophy, pedagogy, educational culture, politics (morals) pedagogy, and on the basis of the domestic and foreign theories on teachers professional development, this paper makes a systematic study on the professional development of middle school politics (morals) teachers, according to the professional development characteristics. The study contents and the main points are as follows.The professional development of middle school politics (morals) teachers, not only has the general characteristics of teachers' professional development, but also has its particularity. It is a continuous dynamic process, a process of periods, autonomy, difference and practice.Teachers in China have generally achieved the requirements of professional standards. But more efforts should be put into the professional development of teachers because China's teacher education started late. On the basis of requirements of the development of modern education, and according to the characteristics of middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional development, this paper argues that the middle school politics (morals) teachers professional qualities are composed of moral quality, knowledge quality, comprehensive ability, physical and psychological health.This paper discusses the significances of middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional development, in the following aspects: its significances for individual teachers, for students, for schools, for society, and for course reform. Observing the present situation of middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional development, the author found that the factors which influence the teachers'professional development, are composed of the teachers'own factors and the external ones. Specifically, the teachers'own factors include the physical and psychological health, professional competence, the sense of self-development in profession. The external factors are those of society, school and family.In order to explore the ways to professional mature, all the countries in the world are researching teachers'professional development. How to effectively realize the middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional development, is the focus of this thesis. According to the particularity of teachers'professional development, the author thinks that the ways of middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional development are the followings: raising the sense of professional development, constructing the professional development plan, autonomous learning, cooperative learning, teaching reflection, action research, teaching research project ( moral). The middle school politics (morals) teachers'professional training includes training, teaching and research activities, communication between schools and academic education.
