This research presents a detailed report of an action research to solve the problems that appear in English writing in senior high school. While teaching, the researcher find that it is a very common and even serious phenomenon that some students don't like writing or even copy even if they hand in their compositions. So it is necessary to solve the problem as soon as possible. Therefore , the researcher looked through lots of materials and got many information about the English writing. In the end , the Process Approach ,which is based on the constructivism theory, attracts the researcher's attention. The researcher is concerned about the fact that if the researcher pay more attention to the students during the process of writing, will the students reduce the difficulties ? Therefore, it is hypothesized that by practising the Process Approach in senior high school can the researcher improve the students'interest and capibility of English writing. This hypothesis was verified by an action research done in one of the classes that the researcher taught, so that the researcher can compare the results and draw a conclusion. The action research which began from October 2009 to March 2010 lasted five months. The data of the research was collected by means of interview,questionnaire,the students'grades in three tests and analysis. It proves that the hypothesis is correct. Not only the students'interest in English writing is improving, but also their ability is increasing.There are five chapters in this thesis. The first chapter gives an introduction about the situation of the students'learning ;The second chapter offers the theoritic basis for the action research; The third chapter focuses on the action research itself; In the fourth chapter, the data collected from the interview,the questionnaire and the tests are shown and discussed. The researcher also pionts out some limitations of the action research and give some suggestions on further research in Chapter Five.
