It is rather common that teachers make much effort in elementary Chinese character teaching but achieve little. Elementary students have burden in memorizing, lose interest and impetus, and even feel headache in learning characters. Chinese character teaching become the"difficult zone"which is cost long time but achieve little in the elementary Chinese teaching.Chinese characters carry particular cultural form and color. They present the production, life style, customs, national belief, moral concept, aesthetic taste and so on and so forth of the people in old time in their pronunciation, pattern and meaning. They are a masterpiece of culture. Nevertheless, the phenomenon that teachers teach Chinese characters with the pure purpose of their interesting and amount but overlook and disobey the cultural features still exist widely. We do not deny to teach Chinese characters interestingly, but it should be based on the structural motivation of Chinese characters. We neither do not deny that a large amount characters can be taught in a certain period, but it should be based on the long-term effect of application of Chinese characters. We should not focus only on immediate interest and damage long-term interest.The previous teaching ways lack the interpretation of cultural color of Chinese characters because Chinese teachers lack related professional knowledge and teaching evaluation is inflexible and single. If we want to solve the problem that culture is lost in the Chinese characters teaching, we should improve the understanding of significance of culture and improve the teachers'culture awareness of Chinese characters and on the basis of the thorough understanding of students'cognitive rules and the features of Chinese characters. This paper aims at exploring a scientific approach of cultivating students loving Chinese and characters when teaching Chinese characters on the basis of integrating the advantage of various teaching approaches.
