Lifelong education and learning society emerge as the trend of the international educational development, and community education plays an important role in the construction of lifelong education system and learning society. In China, the history of community education is short, remains imperfection and immature, comparing that in the developed countries. The development of community education depends on the community educators'professionalism. Along with China puts forward to building up a learning society and advocates the policy on the lifelong education, people more and more concern about the professional qualities in community educators, and problems become the focus in community education. America is the most advanced country of the world in community education, having fairly mature experience in community educators'professionalism.The study mainly consists of six parts:The first part is the conduction, including the background, the research meaning, purpose and methods that the study mainly uses, conducts the definitions of key concepts, such as city community education, community educators and their professionalism.The second part introduces the history of community education of America and China.The third part deeply introduces the case analyzes the professionalism of community educators, and try to find the differences between the two countries.The fourth part the study analyzes the influence factors from the comparativeness on the knowledge, capabilities, organizations, career certification, pre-service education and in-service training.The fifth part, basing on the result of comparativeness, the study gives some suggestions on how to improve the professionalism of community education in China from the macro level,middle level and micro level.
