English writing is one of the four basic skills of English learning. Writing teaching is indispensable to language teaching. However, Writing teaching and learning has been perplexing English teachers and students for a long time. In order to explore a new way of improving the level of students' English writing, the thesis proposes that the application of Interactive Approach in writing teaching.The thesis is based on the teaching practice. There are six procedures:collecting information, draft, revising, rewriting, evaluation, feedback. There is teacher-student, student-student interaction in the writing step. The interactive approach creates a free and relaxed learning atmosphere so the students' motivation for English writing is improved. Especially, for the shy students, they can't dare to express their idea in the whole class but they can overcome in the group discussions to express their feelings and opinionsIn order to compare the teaching effect of the interactive writing with that of the traditional teaching method, the writer makes an experiment. The research was designed and carried out at Grade Two, Senior High, and the Class 1 and Class 2 of the NO.8 middle school in Tianjin. Class 1 is the experiment Class under the interactive English writing and Class 2 is the control class under the traditional English writing. In both classes, their writing level is no significant differences. After the experiment, the students take the post-test. The data was analyzed by Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) software. Writing sores shows that the teaching effect of the interactive writing is better than that of the traditional writing approach.This thesis divides into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction which introduces the problems of English writing in senior high school and the conceptual framework and significance of the study. The second chapter is the literature review. It mainly talks about the brief review of the writing teaching at home and abroad and illustrates the theory of interactive approach, which contains the principle of the interactive approach, types of Interactive writing and characteristic of the interactive writing. And the Psychological basis is concerned. The chapter three is research design. The author introduces the process of the experiment, and the statistics and analysis of the data. The Chapter Four is discussion. It mainly talks about the result of the test, the result of the questionnaire, the discussion of the finds, limitation of the study and implication of the future study. The chapter 5 is evaluation and suggestion. It mainly illustrates the two aspects that is the evolution of the interactive writing and suggestions for English teaching. We can draw the conclusion:Interactive approach is an essential way to teach writing and can improve students'writing ability.
