Grammar teaching is the important part of foreign language teaching, thuslinguists and educational specialists pay more attention to it. The traditional teachingthoughts consider that foreign language teaching should take grammar knowledgeseriously. However, it overemphasizes the teacher’s function, ignores students’feelings about learning. Teacher instills all grammar knowledge into students’ mind,this method can’t cultivate students’ real ability to use language. With thedevelopment of pedagogy and linguistics, people are taking a new view at foreignlanguage teaching. This point urges people to search new and effective measures forgrammar teaching. For that reason, traditional grammar teaching should be reformed,new method is used to study the research, and improving students’ language abilityshould be carried on in the frame of Interactive Teaching Approach.Recent years, various pedagogy mixes with each other. Among them, InteractiveTeaching Approach is highlighted. Students are seen as the center of ITA, andinteraction is the main method which can make students combine the overall languageabilities. It covers the shortage of traditional teaching model, and improves students’language output efficiently.This thesis aims to explore the application of ITA in senior high school’s Englishgrammar teaching. The paper makes definition of Grammar and Interactive Teachingat first in order to lay the foundations of the posterior discussion, then gives aliterature review of the state of this research at home and abroad so that the writer canunderstand the current study deeply.The author uses the methods of questionnaire and test to make a contrast betweenthe traditional method and the ITA. During the planned, systematic experiment, lots ofdata are collected.The paper analyzes and generalizes the data, and introduces how teachersconduct grammar teaching in the frame of ITA based on the relevant theories. Resultsfrom the study indicate that teaching grammar by ITA can benefit both students’ mastery of grammar knowledge and understanding on the grammar function.Environment, individual and behavior interweave to promote the mastery ofgrammar’s form, means and function. It is significant to reform the traditionalgrammar teaching.Based on the research, further implications and suggestions for ITA areconcluded as well, the author hopes that it can make a contribution to achieving abetter teaching effect.
