The concept of electric field is not only a key point but also a difficult point in high school physics teaching. The electric field knowledge occupies pivotal position and function in modern science technology. The students can get various understandings of the physical property and physical movements of the world by deepening the study of the electric field. At the same time, it also established certain foundation for the study of magnetic field, electromagnetic induction, and electromagnetic wave. But because of the specialty and abstractness of the electric field, it is really hard to have the students establish the concept of it scientifically and effectively. This article has conducted the research about the understanding by grade one students in high school of the existence and the property of the electric field, and the function of it to the object in it, taking the related theories of cognitive structure and concept construction as instruction, and taking the method of two-stage diagnostic test and spoken language report.Get to know the cognition degree of students to the electric field through the questionnaire and the spoken language report.Proposes the practical strategy of the high school physics teaching about the electric field:Firstly, introduce the concept intuitively.Secondly, provide the sufficient physical perceptual documents to students.Thirdly, let students internalize the cognition.Forthly, fully understand and utilize the knowledge which the students have already learned and the pre-scientific concept possessed by students.Lastly, in teaching, make the students distinguish the existence, property and the function of the electric field on purpose and realize the relationship of these 3 aspects.
