With the advancement day by day of the globalization process, the society needs talents with the very spirit of co-petition—that is, being both competitive and cooperative. Meanwhile with the progress of curriculum reform issues such as changing the traditional teaching style training students'ability to exchange and cooperate are paid rapt attention . The cooperative teaching theory is a kind of more mature teaching theory, developed both at home and abroad, praised as one of"the most important and most successful reform in education of the past ten years."Heterogeneous group as a co-operative learning group a feature can fully to cultivate students tight collectivity, and sense of cooperation, to enhance learning initiative, to ensure that all groups in the class start to competition in fair condition.The test selects ordinary high school students(girls) choosing volleyball optional course as research object, The teaching of experimental group applies the cooperative theory of heterogeneous group; while the other group still retain the traditional teaching methods. It adopts a series of methods such as documents and documents materials, questionnaire investigation, mathematics statistics and teaching experiments etc. According to the current research situation of cooperative teaching theory at home and abroad, to carry out a meticulous in-depth analysis of the theoretical foundation , definition of concept, the teaching practice of the volleyball optional course of heterogeneous group.It has been theoretically proved that it is viable to take a cooperative approach to the volleyball course and it is also beneficial for students to improve their other abilities.The teaching practice of cooperative teaching of heterogeneous group for high school volleyball courses proves that the cooperative teaching method can inspire students' interest in volleyball, correct their attitude toward learning,enhance learning initiative,cultivate the sense of cooperation,and urge them to improve their analysis of issues,problem-solving abilities and actively to participate in volleyball in their spare time.
