The Research On Activity Teaching In Junior High School Geography Under The Background Of The New Curriculum

Geography is a basic subject with great importance and unique features in basic education for secondary schools. It is very suitable for organizing various kinds of activities to improve teaching effect owing to the universality, comprehensiveness and practicality of the teaching contents. And an idea is also put forward in New Curriculum Standards for geography in middle school that the students should learn geography which is helpful to their lives and even lifelong development.However, there are still a small number of teachers who are constrained in the traditional teaching models and contented with following the prescribed procedures and repeating what the books say. In this way, very often the students study geography only by underling some words or sentences and memorizing them, which can not lead to good effect. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to make further study into the activity teaching of geography in secondary school in order to improve the quality of geography teaching for secondary school.Therefore, starting from the idea of the new curriculum and combined with the writer's teaching practices, this project made use of a great number of teaching cases, analyzed the problems and reasons in the process of conducting activity teaching through the questionnaire and put forward the corresponding solutions.The study of this project includes the writer's pursuit to change the existing classroom instruction. The writer expects to provide some instruction of strategies and ways in the process of activity teaching for the geography teachers, thus enhance the whole teaching quality and efficiency of the activity teaching and finally help the students gain real effective development in the classroom instruction.
