In 2019,Hunan Education Press published "Geography Compulsory Volume Ⅱ of General High School Textbooks"(hereinafter referred to as "Geography Ⅱ").As the carrier for the implementation of the new curriculum,the rich activity columns in Geography Ⅱ play an important role in cultivating students’ core academic literacy,which is an important change in the presentation of geography textbook content,and also an important carrier to change the way of geography learning.In this context,in order to enhance the understanding of activity columns from the perspective of the new curriculum standards,explore the value of activity columns,achieve the teaching requirements of activity columns from the perspective of the new curriculum standards,improve the current teaching situation of activity columns,further optimize the teaching of activity columns,improve the teaching effectiveness of activity columns,and effectively achieve curriculum goals.Through the research on the teaching strategies of the activity column of Geography Ⅱ,on the one hand,which enriches the theoretical research of Geography Ⅱ,on the other hand,which is conducive to the development of teaching activities for teachers and students,optimizing the classroom teaching structure,improving the classroom teaching effect,and implementing the core literacy of the geography discipline.Through literature review,the concepts of activities and activity columns were defined,and content analysis was used to analyze the quantity and content of the activity columns in Geography Ⅱ.Based on previous research,the activity columns were divided into material analysis,thinking and exploration,viewpoint expression,and practical operation.And the core competencies and level of each activity column were analyzed,furthermore,summarize the characteristics of the activity columns in Geography Ⅱ.Secondly,based on the requirements of the new curriculum standards for activity columns from both micro and macro perspectives,combined with the teaching value of activity columns,theoretical and practical basis is provided for the teaching of activity columns.At the same time,interview and classroom observation methods were used to investigate and analyze the teaching status of some teachers’ "Geography Ⅱ" activity columns.The highlights,shortcomings,and influencing factors of teachers’ teaching in activity columns provided practical and feasible solutions for the teaching of activity columns.Finally,based on the teaching basis of activity columns and combined with the teaching principles of activity columns,propose teaching strategies for activity columns.By the study of teaching strategies in activity columns,it was found that activity columns contain rich teaching value.In teaching,inspiring teaching strategies that focus on information extraction and processing,constructing situational strategies to assist students in thinking and exploration,creating clever topic teaching strategies to guide students in cooperative communication,the teaching strategy of integrating local culture to enrich language expression scenarios,and teaching strategies based on projects to guide practical operation processes,are aimed at promoting the implementation of the value of activity columns.And construct a strategic teaching process with corresponding types of activity columns,optimize the implementation of activity columns,and aim to achieve teaching objectives.Based on the inspiration teaching strategy of information extraction and processing in material analysis activity columns,case analysis method is used to select cases for teaching design,and teaching strategies are applied to provide some reference for frontline teachers’ activity columns teaching,promoting teachers’ genuine attention to the activity columns.
