Cultural Perspective On General Education

In the course of development of modern universities, the rise of the industrial revolution and the development of scientism, non-utilitarian utilitarian liberal education have been gradually replaced by professional education, and then developed into professionalism, instrumentalism, people become a knowledge dependency. In the critique of professionalism, professionalism general education first in the United States came into being. Since reform and opening, along with rapid economic and social development, people recognize the dangers of excessive specialization.80 years of the 20th century, the domestic scholars around the cultural quality education and general education started thinking national universities have begun to pay attention to broaden the professional side.Wei ping Chen, Liu Mei Ling published in the "Higher Education" 2 1987 "Hong Kong Chinese University's general education and enlightenment" is the first article of general education as the theme to the research literature. Pass and combine the culture development trend of new era, what kind has put forward the need under great background that is globalized to know education openly specifically. In this paper, cultural structure analysis method, and explore the cultural foundation of general education; find the current era of China's Cultural Strategy and General of the contacts. This text is divided into five parts, the first part of the first connotation of the concept of general education to sort out the different general, because this particular cultural perspective, and then the various definitions of cultural expression for discrimination. And base on the premise that the thought, faith brought in western cultural shock are vast and hazy, on one hand require the promotion of native culture, on the other hand, need to establish the base that basic cultural value is found and settled down and got on with one's work by people. And under the foundation that describe here, what kind angle of cultural construction needs to know the educational problem openly to new era, provide the concrete suggestion.
