1981 Japanese short track speed skating lecture mission lectured in China to teach short track speed skating sports technology, competition rules and referee rules.Ever since, China began to carry out this sport item, so far Chinnese short track speed skating team has made great achievements and won many times in World Series championship, but we should see the advantages of short-track powerful country.we have only just started it. We should search for our own inadequacies, and learn the advanced experiences, training philosophy from other powers, to improve the athletic performance of China's short track speed skating as soon as possible. Both located in east Asia, South Korea, has won 17 gold medals from 1992 to 2006 participated five times in the Olympic short track speed skating, while China only won 3 gold medals. This shows that South Korean is a real power in short track speed skating. What makes us think is that with China and South Korea in East Asia, we share similar geographical location, climate, race, diet, Korea are able to train so many world champions, while we only won three Olympic gold medals with our total population 10 more times than that of South Korea. For this, I'd like to identify our strengths and weaknesses through comparative analysis and reaches on China and South Korea's Olympic short track speed skating grades, athlete selection, training, competition, venues, coaches, athletes and the community's attention to provide constructive suggestions the rapid development of our short track speed skating. In this paper, I conducted in-depth comparative analysis to China-Korea short track speed skating back-up personnel training with references to literature, questionnaires, expert interviews to identify the differences between two short-track back-up personnel training, continue to carry forward our advantage, make up for our deficiencies, seek a path which is suitable to our conditions, conducive to the rapid development of China's short track speed skating, and provide a theoretical reference for the rapid development of China's short track speed skating. The results show that:(1) Winter Olympics Results:China's women team gained some advantages in previous Olympic Games in 500-meters projects, while South Korean women's team has always been of advantages in 1,500 meters and 3,000 meters relay project. In recent years Chinese women team is of a completely new look to the world. Since retiring of Li Jiajun, China's men's team's performance falls far behind South Korea men's team.(2) The selection of athletes:Although China is a nationwide system of competitive sports, there are some player-selecting problems. It is difficult for coaches to get good athletes. There are many young people participating in training in South Korea, it is easy to select some outstanding young athletes to train.(3) training funds:the Chinese athletes'fund source for training are mainly from government funding, while that of Korean athletes are mainly self-offer-based or from Skating Association. From this point we can see the training-ensure funding of Chinese athletes is better than Korean athletes and need not worry about training fees.(4) facilities:There are more than more than 20 indoor ice-skating halls across China, but few of them can truly reach the standard for training and competition, while South Korea has more than 40 indoor ice-skating halls of international competition standard. South Korean athletes have better training conditions than Chinese athletes do.(5) Training times:Chinese athletes training have more training than South Korean athletes, but less on-ice training than South Korean athletes.(6) Times of race:The times of Chinese athletes competing less than South Korea athletes'each year.(7) Coaches:Chinese coaches are relatively old.(8) The placement of retired athletes:retired Chinese athletes will be assigned a certain job or transported to universities to study and get certain paid. South Korean athletes will enjoy the school, avoid military service and enjoy a hero's treatment only if they got good achievements and rankings.
