| In ancient and medieval India, there was a well-known way of teacher training called as "monitorial system", however, the real organized teacher training began in modern times. Especially during decades of development after independence, India has formed a complete system of teacher education. To meet the requirements of the times and develop high-quality teachers, the appropriate teacher education curriculum plan is needed.Teacher education in India includes teacher training and pre-service training. In the whole teacher education system, teacher education curriculum plan is the focus of teacher education, plays a vital role in developing high-quality teachers. In this paper, the Indian teacher education curriculum plan at all stages are studied. After analyzing the factors influencing the teacher education curriculum plan , the various stages of teacher education curriculum plans in India is discussed comprehensively. Finally, the characteristics of teacher education curriculum plan and the inspiration to the teacher education curriculum plan in China are explored. This article is divided into four parts:1. The problems to be researched are briefly introduced and the research progress at home and abroad is also reviewed. The research meaning is stated clearly and related conceptions are also defined.2. The history of Indian teacher education curriculum plan is reviewed. In this part, we analyze the development of teacher education curriculum program during the ancient India period, the colonial period and the post-independence period.3. Discusses the various types of pre-service teacher education curriculum plan and continuing education curriculum plan and then focuses on curriculum objectives, course contents and structure.4. The Indian characteristics of teacher education curriculum plans are summarized and the suggestions are given in order to improve the teacher education curriculum program in china. |
