The Social Features And Influence Of The Returning Migrant Workers Who Get Back To Hometown Actively

The migration from the rural to the cities and the change from the agriculture to non-agricultural industries are natural phenomenon in the global process of industrialization and urbanization. Being different from the single type of Western developed countries, the migration of migrant workers in China presented Pendulum-Type or Migratory because of its unique strategy of the Urbanization and Industrialization and the existence of structural constraints including the Household Registration System. It is after the financial crisis in 2008 that the number of migrant workers who return actively has been increasing. Governments and scholars give them a great deal of attention. What is the basic situation of migrant workers? In the end what causes them to choose to return home? What did the Work in the cities change them? What main kind of work do they do after they return home? What is the migrant workers' influence in the family? How do they educate their children? So what kind of impact do they bring to the local community and the process of urbanization? I try to start answering these questions from the micro level regarding the rational analysis of the migrant workers as the main line.This paper has taken a field investigation to observe the returning migrant workers' living and working. On this basis, we selected 10 migrant workers' families to deeply interview with. This article attempts to explore the choice of returning migrant workers and the impact to the village from the sociological point.It has a certain meaning and value in practice.This article is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction part. First we introduce the origin and significance of the problem, followed we review the related literature and then we define the relevant concepts and explain the research method.The second part describes the basic situation of the subjects, shows three typical cases, got five social characteristics of actively returning-type migrant workers on the basis. In the third part, we analysis the returning reasons from the consensus of the rural society, children's educational status, rural development and the various inadequacies working in other place. The investigation showed that the returning is migrant workers' rational consideration and active choice.The forth part describes the change of the migrant workers in terms of ideology, skills, quality, ability to adapt to life etc. It is the changes that make them become the basis of the main force in the new rural construction.The fifth part discusses the initiatives of migrant workers to return home on their minor children's education, helping adult children, the solution to the elderly left behind, enriching the human capital in rural areas, the changes of the traditional values and traditional rural lifestyle. It should not be underestimated. House-shopping of some migrant workers in cities and towns confirmed Fei Xiaotong's small town development pattern in practice.The sixth part is the summary.
