The campus' outdoor space is an important part of the urban open space, it shows high viewin improving city environment around the campus and enriching the campus landscape. Its mainpurpose is to provide a good material exchange and interpersonal platform for users. Soarchitects are facing an important subject on how to meet users' need at present.In the study of space, gender difference has always been ignored. Design of campus'outdoor space often seems to be in an equal "male standard" way, in fact it's a lack ofconsideration for gender difference. Design ignored the psychology and behavior differencebetween man and woman and the relation of their emotion behavior with the environment, so thecampus' outdoor space can not meet the needs of female users. Focusing on the individual case,the campus of Nanjing Forestry University, the author did field survey, analysis and research byusing comprehensive research strategies including interview, questionnaire etc. Aiming to thefemale users, the author carry on the investigation separately in six respects of integrity outdoorspace, different types of space, sports space, dormitory and campus road, campus security andinfluence factors, to find their demands for campus' outdoor space, get the research results oftheir emotional behavior experience, and put forwards the design&transformation suggestionsaccording to the problems found. The ultimate aim of the study is not to emphasis the female'sparticularity, but hope to provide a new idea and method for the planning and designing of thecampus' outdoor space, to diversify the space type, enhance the campus security, and embody thetrue care of women in outdoor space, finally design really comfortable space for peopleļ¼Ž...
