With the revolution of new technology featured with science and technology in the 1960s, the period of knowledge update is getting shorter and shorter, making people realize that the process of living is filled with endless improvement and studying. "Build a life-long education system " is an education concept proposed in 1995 and now it turns out to be a goal for the whole society in the 21st century, that is building up a learning-oriented society which supports life-long and nationwide study. The promotion of adult learning is the main task of learning-oriented society construction since adults are the main body of the society. Community is the institution which provides education for adults. Therefore, how to make use of limited community resources with more efficiency is the primary issue in the promotion of adult learning as well as in the building up of learning-oriented society. This paper selects Guandu community, which is located in Guandu county of Kunming city, as the research object, making a survey on the resource application of adult learning with methods such as questionnaire, observation and interview. This paper gives an analysis of the psychology, content and the ways of the application of adult learning resources as well as some supporting measures done to promote the application of adult learning resources in Guandu community, and then summarizes some challenges and issues faced by the community members during their learning process. Based on the above and the analysis of the causes,the paper tries to give some advice for the improvement.The first chapter introduces the research background, the implication of research, research methods and gives a clear clarification of some important definitions. Based on empirical research, the second chapter analyzes the application of adult learning resources in Guandu community, including the economy, education, population, and learning resources besides the psychology, content, actual effect in the process of adult learning. The third chapter talks about some issues in terms of the recognition of learning resources, learning psychology, the content of resources and the form of resources in the application of adult learning resources of Guandu community. The last chapter gives six specific countermeasures and suggestions, namely, setting up proper adult learning theory and correct concept of adult learning resources, and then arousing the subjectivity and initiative of residents in construction of community resources, establishing assessment mechanism on adult learning needs, building up the guarantee and sharing mechanism of community adult learning resources, setting up learning platform of public resources in community.
