With the development of new curriculum reform, Task-based Teaching Approach has been playing an increasingly important role in guiding classroom teaching in high schools. In this thesis, the writer tries to apply the theory to English writing teaching in Senior II in order to find an actual, practical and efficient wring teaching model as well as to improve the worrying English writing teaching situation. This model should be based on students'reality so as to motivate them to write more and improve their comprehensive abilities.In this study, the writer mainly used the following methods:questionnaires, surveys, interviews, talks, comparison and analysis. Designing writing tasks is the core in Task-based teaching class because such tasks should be based on the students' psychological characteristics and the development of this learning stage. So the English writing tasks should be designed to meet not only the general principles of English classroom tasks but also the following six characteristics:1. Step by step.2. Being systematic.3. Being fashionable; 4. Encouraging and enlightening 5. Scientific and interesting.The students from experimental class have greatly increased their enthusiasm in English writing and their compositions obviously have shown great progress in expressions, sentence structures, discourse context, coherence and other writing skills, which strongly demonstrated the Task-based writing model is of great efficiency. Not only can it improve the past writing teaching situation but also it further proves that Task-based Teaching Approach can greatly help boost English writing teaching and learning. English teachers should carefully design appropriate writing tasks and guide the students to fulfill them in order to improve the students'performance and comprehensive skills.
