In Today's society,a severe lack of Local Knowledge for young people is an unquestionable fact.This lack caused Today's young people to face great difficulties in physical and mental lif,especially for those from the countryside. The essay combined the previous research and gave an admittance of the importance of Native and Local Knowledge ,furtherly present the great value of teaching Native and Local Knowledge. An observation and a survey on the current condition was made, in which the Native and Local Knowledge are endangered to die away in a sooner futher.Based on the native and foreign theories concerned, it made a firm admittance to the cultural importance and the realistic sense of the existence and transformation of the Native and Local Knowledge. The following aspects are contained .Firstly,great social value in developing"root"awareness, inheriting national culture and making society harmony.Secondly, educational value of emphasis on the social effect of education and realization of comprehensive goals;Last but not least, the value of life in personal growth and development and complementing nutrition spiritually and morally. The educational lack of Native and Local Knowledge brings damage to Today"youths mently and physically.For example,Country youths will fall into trouble in life because of this lackage when they lose their jobs in cities; students will also weaken their feelings for their homeland, fellow people and nation .A practice was tried to appeal to society and educational field to value it enough ,and to take essential policies. The thesis is based on a survey from Dianqian High School and other primary schools around in Dianqian Town,Yuexi County ,Anhui Province. At the end of the essay,how to integrate this into current school education was aggresively tried to be presented.
