| Stress is a problem encountered by all modern people, and job satisfaction has become a common topic for most job holders. Job stress and satisfaction degrees of kindergarten teachers have gained from researchers wide concern as an important research project.This study aims to present the status quo as well as the influencing factors of job stress and job satisfaction of the kindergarten teachers in G District of Nanjing City, and to bring about coping strategies and effective measures to alleviate job stress and to enhance job satisfaction.This study applies A Questionnaire for Kindergarten Teachers'Job Stress and A Questionnaire for Kindergarten Teachers'Job Satisfaction as measuring tools; and by clustering sampling, it has distributed 190 questionnaires to eight public kindergartens in G District of Nanjing, retrieving 184 valid ones. Statistics and analyses via SPSS 11.5 FOR WINDOWS software and interviews with a number of teachers help to come to the conclusions as below:1. In G District of Nanjing, job stress for kindergarten teachers reaches the upper-intermediate level, leaving a space from "relatively high" or "particularly high" levels.2. In G District of Nanjing, job satisfaction gets to the intermediate level, not reaching "relatively high" or "particularly high" levels.3. Elements of job stress rank in degrees from top to bottom as:wages and job environment, role task, job duty, expectations from the outside, individual competence, pupils, and inter-personal relations, revealing the fact of maximum stress arising from salaries and welfare benefits and the environment and minimum stress from inter-personal relations.4. Elements of job satisfaction rank in degrees from top to bottom as:the job per se, management by the kindergarten director, job environment, further studies and promotion, salaries and welfare benefits, showing that kindergarten teachers feel most satisfied with the job itself, while least satisfied with salaries and welfare benefits.5. Degrees of job stress and satisfaction differ greatly in accordance with such variables as the teachers'ages, educational backgrounds, kindergarten types, teachers'employment types and income levels. |
