Job satisfaction reflects kindergarten teachers’ overall emotional feeling andopinions about the work itself, working conditions and working environment. Thelevel of job satisfaction will directly influence kindergarten teachers’ routineeducation and teaching. Trying to find out the truth about kindergarten teachers’ jobsatisfaction in Ningbo, the research carries out questionnaire survey on factors likework itself, kindergarten principal, working environment, salary, further study andpromotion, with frontline head teachers in Ningbo kindergartens as subjects.Combined with analysis on background factors like teachers’ age, marital status,education background, work experience, the type of class they are in charge of andenrollment, the paper explores the relationship between factors influencing jobsatisfaction, and puts forward relevant suggestions about how to improvekindergarten teachers’ job satisfaction.With Teachers’ Job Satisfaction Questionnaire compiled by Lv Guoguang fromEducation Science Institute in Northwest Normal University as research tool,360questionnaires were sent out, and313were recollected. The research comes to thefollowing conclusion according to the findings:Firstly, the degree of Ningbo Kindergarten teachers’ job satisfaction is a bithigh, but not very high, among which work itself is the most satisfactory while salaryis the least satisfactory.Secondly, different individual background factors have different influence onteachers’ job satisfaction. Factors like age, work experience, types of class haveobvious influence on job satisfaction, while teachers’ education background andenrollment have different level of effect on job satisfaction.Thirdly, the research finds out that the major factors influencing Ningbokindergarten teachers’ job satisfaction are further study, promotion, salary andworking environment. After interviews with frontline teachers, the research gets toknow kindergarten teachers commonly hold the belief that society’s emphasis onpreschool education doesn’t conform to the cognition of the profession. Heavy demand of the job is out of proportion to the salary, which has greatly influencedteachers’ work enthusiasm. It’s a common problem troubling kindergarten teachers.Fourthly, based on survey analysis and interview results, the paper puts forwardcountermeasures and proposals on Ningbo kindergarten teachers’ job satisfactionimprovement from the aspects of management strategy, kindergarten teachers’professional development, job security, and teachers themselves.
